KARIN LATEGAN - Mermaids
‘Smellbound’ is a series of individually painted perfume bottles. My work is concerned with issues of feminine beauty light, reflections and memory. These bottles can be seen as meditations on the relation between sensing (seeing, touching and smelling) and memory. Furthermore the light that filters through the glass dissolve recognizable shapes and surface decorations into a shifting pattern of associations.
