The generic symbol of the bride, the white dress, has been assimilated into various cultural celebrations of marriage. It is marketed as the classic fairytale ball dress to be worn by a Princess on the most special day of her life. The checkerboard pattern illustrated in the bridal ‘portrait’ is extended as a 3Dsetting, or installation, a ‘chess set’ entitled “GAMES PEOPLE PLAY”. This visual extension is intended represent the domestic politics engendered in the marital state.
